AC Model B Cylinder Pressure is only 30 lbs.

I'm in the process of trying to put an AC Model B back into service after sitting out in the weather for 5 or 6 years. The engine is not frozen up and I can turn it by hand crank without much struggle. But, all 4 cylinders register only 30 lbs. +/-. I've squirted oil in the cylinders. My cyl. pressure gauge is a screw-in, so there isn't any leakage that I can determine.
Does anyone have any ideas? Help very appreciated. Thanks very much, Les

Are you checking compression by turning engine with hand crank? If you say all cylinders are 30# +/- just start it up and go for a ride! Jerry

rings are stuck in the piston groves. you can fill with oil and soak, then drag it around a little--maybe it will get better, i had to take my pistons out, broke rings off and bought new--from norm.

You'll want to take the valve cover off and watch the valves to see if they have full travel. They're probably stuck? or not sealing ? and you're losing compression there. hth Mike

I am not sure, but my guess would be that maybe the rings are stuck and it is letting pressure around them u were smart by putting oil in the spark plug holes though, if my guess is right that might help the rings too! Oh and you also said that they were all around 30 pounds, so i wouldnt see how there is too much wrong with it since they all regerister about the same.. I am gonna stick with my guess about the rings. They say too put about a cap of a oil bottle in each cylinder.. Good luck
