Yes, and all cars should have "the safety of steel, between the foot and the wheel", as said by none less than Henry Ford, as Cheverolet and others went hydraulic. Has anybody seen a radiator painted other than black, when inspecting modern cars? In marginal systems, especially those employing thermosyphon, maximum radiation by the radiator is imperative. Even the tanks must be black, to maximise the radiation effort. (this additional effort by the various manufacturers is unknown to me). One can say, if the tractor is painted purple, at the factory, then the radiator must be painted the same color!! Not so, in practise. All I can say, is that I tried this back in the 60's on a Bug-Eye Sprite. I thought that it would be "cool" if I polished the top tank to a bright Brass! Temps were off scale and I had to re-paint to bring the needle back to operating range. The paint? Flat black. I was taking Physics 1A then, and we made a session on practical application of the lesson plan. That's all I know about radiator color. PS. Anybody notice the color of the Heat Shield tiles on the Space Shuttle?

Allis, The physics books make black look the best for radiating heat. Accordingly, radiators are painted black for that reason. Shiny surfaces reflect heat both directions and are avoided in practice. I've no idea what AC did in production, but in this application especially, go flat black.
( you can't go wrong )
