Hello, I had my crank turned .020 and purchased .020 under bearings. I bought new shims from sandy lake and used new set under each cap. I used plastigage under each main cap and have a reading of .003 on all three bearings. Is this sufficient clearance? Thanks

I rebuilt a AC C last year and had the main and rods cut 020 the book says clearance should be
.001 to .002 .003 maybe a little to much it only holds 20 psi oil pres. so you may loose some pres
make shure the shimes are not hitting the crank
recheck dry!!! this is very tricky duble check
shim thicknes this is the hardest part of this rebuild once this is done clean all parts and coat with STP tork. each one and turn crank shaft
after each one good luck PS mine was .002
and runs great Joe

.002 is what you want to shoot for. .003 will work.
