it would be a 1938 model. Mose of the tractors built in 38-39 did not have electric start or hydraulics. Yours might have the option. Look at the very back of the transmission compartment and see if it has a PTO shaft and / or hydraulic pump. If neither or only 1, you are limiited on its use. Lot of these little tractors were used to pull a small plow or cultivator and done need the hydraulics. To run a rear mower you will need at lease the PTO shaft. If it has been setting quite a while and will not start it is in the $300-600 range. If it starts and just looks poor, it is $600-1000. If over $1000 is should run decent and have decent tires that hold air and will last a couple years. Repaired and painted you see guys getting $1800. IF it is really restored and decals, new tires ect they ask $2500, but doont know how many area actually getting that. Depends on where you are located. Tires are $200 each and rims are $100 so you can have $600 in the rear and $250 more in the front tires. Put in $400-500 for a motor overhaul and $300 for paint if you do it yourself and you have a $1800 tractor. Get the picture. Most guys will like to have electric start. If it done it is probably a little less desirable unless you are a collector and want the 1938. Go to the left of this page and look under "tractor Photos", type in "allis" the click on any of the "B" and take a look. If it is original it probalby dont have electric starter, has a bench seat, has a wide front wish bone axle. Tractor is about 20 HP and weighs alittle over 2000 pounds. quite strong for its size, a lot more there than a new 20 HP garden tractor.

Craig, You have a 1938 B( low serial number)that is the 173 B ever produced.116cu. engine,13hp at drawbar. They are very easy to work on and a excellent restore project.Around here not running I would give $500 for it.Worth after restore is hard to say it depends on person and area. That is hand cranck start Correct? Alot of people don't like hand cranks,For example a friend of mine had a 38 ( hand crank) nice tractor, painted ect... he couldn't get $800 he parted it out and made more and had a bunch of parts left.A collector that Wants that tractor or private person might give ya $2200-$2500. You never know,I would never spend more than $800 on one myself because I enjoy fixing them.Unless it had a Waukesha engine on it Thats a whole different ball game.Parts are easy to get and all the info you need is right here on this board everyone is more than willing to help.Good Luck! My $.02 Worth Justin NY

If you decide to purchase the "B",and new rear rims are needed, the rear rims for a Farmall A fits right on the B, the Farmall A rims have welded loops on them for the attachment bolts. The loops match the holes in the B hubs. Just my two cents worth. Good luck

Hi, Justin,
Did the Allis B,s come with Waukesha engines ?
I admit I do no quite a bit abought Ford 8NS,600,800,s etc. but verry little abought Allis B,s.
The tractor does have P.T.O and also another shaft near the PTO.coming out on the left side ??
Is it worth $500. With the motor sod up?(I was told it ran last fall.
Thanks again ....

the first 99 tarctors built in 1937 had the WAK engine. Starting in 1939 they had the BE ALLIS motor. The rear shat is the PTO, the side shaft is a belt pulley drive. It runs 1000 RPM, PTO runs 540. $500 is a little rich, unless the guy guarantees it will run decent after cleaing carb and draining gas tink. I would give him $300 and tell him the other $200 depends on it running, no smoke. Assume the motor is not locked up.?
