Cranked my WD yesterday. Very cold outside. It fired and ran for a couple seconds and died. I choked it and cranked again. It ran for a couple seconds and died. Now it won't fire. Has gas. Points open & Close with spark. No spark at plugs. Rotor & Cap have a little corrosion that I cleaned off, but still nothing. I replaced the coil because I had a new one laying around. Still nothing. Any thoughts?

It was a partially plugged fuel line. I think that combined with the extreme cold wouldn't let it start. Thanks for all the input!

I had the same problem on my WD last summer. Ran fine , shut it off, wouldn't restart 5 minutes later. After a lot of head scratching I removed the points for some unknown reason. They fell apart in my hands. Replace them. Fired right up. Still starts perfect.
They looked fine in the distibutor, untill I started to remove them.

Take the coil wire out of the cap and hold it close to a ground, if it doesn't spark your points are grounded out. If it does spark and still nothing at plug then replace cap and rotor.

Ice in carb? Maybe? Take carb off, take inside, warm up and drain completely. Might help. Also check for ice in fuel filter, might let some fuel by, but not enough to keep it running.

Could be the cap and rotor, the wires, or something grounding or broken wire. I would think the cap and rotor need replacing because of the cleaning. And I would think something might be grounded or broken because of being worked on.
