Hi all, When I bought my C it had a bar on it just like the C in the link, What is this bar for? Is it to hang weight off of or is it for some kind of implment? Also, My water pump has a plug on it, What is this plug for? My B's does not have a plug. My Uncle said that it could have been for a cab heater??? Any ideas? Have a good day, TractorMike

The bar is for the front sections of the cultivator. Some AC tractors had a front planter unit available- this bar may have been used for that as well- I don't know. The plug you refer to could not be for a cab heater, since cabs came along more than a decade after these tractors were built. In fact, back then, we didn't even have electrical engine (tank) heaters. If you expected the tractor to start in those days, you best have a big door in the cow barn to keep the tractor inside, or enjoy cranking. A pot of burning corncobs under the crankcase didn't hurt either, but my folks built a wide aisle barn in 1952, so the tractor stayed inside all winter and started every day.

The bar is for cultivator mounting and may (been too long) have also been used with the undermount mowers. Not sure what you are talking about a "plug" If you mean an electrical plug it is some sort of block heater, if you mean a pipe plug, I'd have to take a look at my C, seems to me there is one.

The "plug" that I am talking about is a pipe plug. It looks like the oil drain plug, maybe a little bigger. TractorMike

Most water pumps have a plug some use it for a heater, some plug it. I aways thought that it was used for mold shake out at the foundry.
