Dave What type of combine is a Model 40? Is it a pull type or a self propelled? My grandfather has a AC pull type pto driven combine that I currently don't know the Model #. I think he would sell it if thats the one your looking for. Also if I know what I'm looking for I can keep an eye open for you, In my area there are plenty of old combines.

The model 40 is a pull type machine and was the only straight through machine built by allis. It was built for the model B tractor. does the combine you have deliver the straw to the right side of the machine or does it deliver it to the rear? does it have a canvas to take the grain to the cylinder or does it have an auger and feeder house to take the crop to the cylinder? the serial number for the machine is located under the cylinder on the left hand side of the machine if you can give me the number I'm pretty sure I can tell you what model you have.

I have a model 40 combine that is not for sale. I also have the original parts and operators manuals . Mine has a bagger instead of a bin. We saw a model 40 working in Iowa this summer at The Gathering of the Orange. Good luck in finding one!

I also would like to know more information on where to find and or purchase a model 40 combine. Any suggestions, pricing issues, etc. would be appreciated. LF
