AC WD Oil Pressure

I have a 51 WD that is a work tractor. The oil pressure normally reads well into the normal range when accelerating and barely in the normal range when idling. I recently noticed that when the tractor was quite hot, the oil pressure was barely in the normal range even when accelerating. After the tractor cooled, it returned to well into the normal when accelerating. Do I have an impending problem? Is the oil pump suspect?

thanks;
-Craig-

Take the oil pressure gauge off and throw away. Put a plug in the hold and work the _____ out of it. Don't worry about it. We have used them for years with very little oil pressure.

That's pretty much normal for the old AC tractors with the bypass oil system. The manual says that when running wide open and the engine is hot, the gauge should read on o, r or m. If it's reading anywhere near o, then I wouldn't worry. The oiling system on these pump a lot of oil at low pressure. Also, are you using #30 oil, and did you change to a different kind of filter? If you have a filter that lets oil pass through easier, it will lower the pressure reading on the gauge.
