Greetings: Earlier I posted that I had a stuck engine..after 1.5 turn on the crank pulley. I took off the side valve cover and I see that the tappets are free and moving..With that, I have decided to pull the engine and see what's up..I took off the engine bolts to the bell housing and the engine would not come free. This G has factory hybraulics so I wondered if the unit has to be unhooked from the ftansmission before taking off the engine..Thanks for the help,,Mark in Oregon

I would not remove the engine ! It's easy to get to , like on a engine stand the way it is.... remove the head, sounds like some thing on top of piston...dont know how it could get there....jack up one wheel(about 1")...put trans in higest gear....turn wheel back and forth watching the pistons.....keep putting w-40 or the like, in the cylnders and valves .....no reason why this shoulden't free up the engine.....you may have to let it soak over night.....

Weren't there a couple bolts that you have to get to from the bottom after the cover shield is removed behind the oil pan??? Can't remember for sure.

I do believe that I would take the head and oil pan off before I pulled the motor off. That would show you what the problem is. That gives you time to figure out what you want to do while you are pulling the motor. Dave

Mark: The hydraulics have nothing to do with pulling the engine from the transmission. It should slide right out. It does have two dowells pins right and left that can get very tight sometimes. The transmission imput shaft may be a little rusty where it slides in the clutch splines. Don't be afraid to use reasonable force to pry the engine from the trans. Make sure you have "ALL" the bellhousing removed.
