I have a K4B3 Fairbanks-Morse magneto. What tractors could these be found on? I knew Fairbanks-Morse was a popular brand for AC tractors. Any information including value of the mag would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luke

I'm not sure what model might have used the "K" series Fairbanks mag, but the F/M number is for an AC machine. The "K" is the series of mag, the 4 means it's for a 4 cylinder engine, the "B" means it's a flange mount, and the "3" is the customer # which the customer or "user" was Allis Chalmers. Maybe someone can identify which model the "K" series was used in... Steve B.

We had one on a 39 AC B.

I was told they were used on
M Moline R and Z tractors too.

I just put one on my just-restored 1940 AC B and it works really well - big blue spark etc. Had a heck of time timing it, until I realized I had it firing on the exhaust stroke, not the compression stroke. My tractor is smarter, and older than I am! David

Today's Featured Article - A City Guy's First Tractor - by Fred Hambrecht. After living in apartments in Atlanta for more years than I care to remember, the wife and I decided to move to the country. Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked ...
