: I need your help. I have a WD-45 (gas) with a narrow front end, PTO and 3-pt hitch which has been in storage for approx 4 years and has not been started during this time. What should I do to get it started with minimal engine damage? What fluids should be changed? Should I try to inject some lubricant into the cylinders? What are the fluid capacities for oil and transmission/hydralic? What oil type is recomended? What might cause the 3 pt hitch to rise and fall on its own during operation with a bush hog? Is it possible to convert to a wide front end? I know this is a lot of questions, but I need serious help.
I would clean out the carburator and the gas tank should be flushed as well. (flush the gas tank with a little clean gas). It wouldn't hurt to take off the valve cover and make sure none of the valves are stuck open. Lube the valve stems up with some light oil. change the oil in the engine and use 10w-30 detergent oil. Non-detergent oil will allow carbon build ups to occur in the engine. clean off the plugs and it should be ready to go.
hope I could be of some help
