I need replacement glow plugs for English Allis Chalmers ED40 with a Standard Diesel engine. Currently has Champion # AG-32, 12V, 70W--also stamped on the plug is W36,Made in England. I have had no luck w/local dealers. Can anyone tell me where I can find the glow plugs? If that number cross references to an updated Champion number or to another brand? Any help would be appreciated.

Most parts are not available from the dealer. Standard engines were used by other companies, so there should be some parts around,my engine was good, used parts are available from salvage yards. Not easy starters, tiny shot of ether, it fires right up. Poor steering box design, you will need a good machine shop to repair the box. Suspect the rims will be rotted, the 12X28 are available or can be repaired. With the engine stuck, be prepared to spend more money than what the tractor is worth. Email me if you have any questions, will try to give you an answer. good luck!!!!

The tractor weighs 2 ton, given the condition, it is likely worth whatever old iron is worth. Price sounds steep given it would be worth 2,000 to 2800 if it was in good, running condition. You may want to call a tractor salvage yard(Wengers or others on the A/C page) to get specific part prices/availability. They could give you a better idea of salvage value. The tractor is similar to a D-14 or D-15, might be able to adapt some sheet metal. good luck
