Just bought a WC and it has a sherman tranny how can i tell if it is a step up or step down.The tractor has not run for 15 years. It also has the original non adjustable wide front.Thanks in advance. Tractor Rod

You can't tell from the outside, you either have to turn the motor over and check the tire rotation speeds or take it out and look at the gears.

remove the shift lever cover. paint mark a tooth and jack up one rear wheel. count the teeth on the top rear gear 20 teeth stepdown 15 teeth stepup.
