The wd45 I purchased has a hydraulic reservoir mounted on the frame rail. I'd like to take this off at the same time I'm draining all the fluids. Out of the bottom of the tranny there is a pipe that is plumbed by hose into the bottom of the resevoir. I'll take this off, will this drain my hydraulic system? Also there is a hyd. hose off the top of the Pump (I'm guessing) just forward of the hose to the 2 pt hydraulics. Can I just remove and plug this??? Are the plugs for these holes just a pipe thread plug or something special Allis???
Sorry for all the questions, manual will be here soon.
Also, why does yt parts have two battery boxes listed for the wd 45.
Where are the serial numbers located on this tractor???

Thanks again Kevin

What you have described sounds like an add on hydraulic system I have seen on a couple of WD45s that used to be around here. They had a pump under the hood that was powered by the fan belt. The one that I have experience with was plumbed seperately from the factoery system. Your description sounds different in that you mention the hose to the two point hydraulics. It sounds as if someone has added some plumbing to the system to have more fluid available for a remote cylinder{s}. I believe the pllug you are talking about is a pipe plug.

The hydraulic resevoir is infront of the transmission and has a seperate drain plug. If you didn't know this you could confuse it with a part of the transmission. The pto or plate over the pto if there is no pto is the front drain for the transmission, next trans drain is under the shift lever part in a sheetmetal plate (difficult to get to), and the third one is under the rear end. If you are changing oils don't fortet the final drives. The hydraulic oil is checked with a small dipstick on the top left of the hydraulic resevoir near the clutch linkage. The serial no. is on the back of the rearend on the left side behind the left brake on the machined surface below the brke spring and adjusting screw.
