C ALLIS CHALMERS CAST IRON OIL PAN

I own a C that has cast iron oil pan, valve cover and final drive sumps. This tractor also has an adjustable wide front end. The front wheels are also riveted to the hub, with zirks. It also has what appears to be two serial numbers, one in front of the gear shift and on behind it. The one in front is C 386859 and the one in the rear is 93634G. I am sure that the wide front is the correct one for the tractor, because it steers over top and has a gear box in front. If the front end was off of B, it would not have a gear box in front. I am sure that everything on this tractor came with it,with the exception of front wheels, and they could easily have been changed.
If anyone has information on a C like this, I would like to hear from them. Herb

i have one also just as u described cast valve cover i thought that maybe they had something to do with ww2 they did some strange things during 1940 to 1945.i also have 2 model b's with the rivets on the wheels to the hub just guessing again but i would guess these were the first year or 2 of production rudy

I have three of them and have seen a couple more in trhis area that I didn't buy. Several here have posted that they have one from time to time. I was told a coupla years back when I got my first one that Allis never used them and it had to have been switched from something else, then another Allis expert told me that yes Allis put them on some tractors but I had found a rare tractor. Well I guess as many of them as I have seen and heard about that they are not all that rare. I have heard several stories about why they were used but will not repete an of them as I am sure they were opinions rather than facts.
