Just bought one.

Have a shop manual, but it doesn't give stuff like thermostat temperature or oil type.

Need to know:

thermostat temperature and type - can I get one at Autozone?

Engine oil type - does it have to be non-detergent or can I use API type SL 10-30?

Gearboxes - oil type and viscosity: are transmission, torque tube, and final drive the same?

Jim's info is correct- the OPERATOR manual would have all the details you're asking about, including info according to types of oil depending on outside temperature. The shop (SERVICE) manual you mentioned is great for those who do their own teardown and rebuild projects.

180 F thermostat (try NAPA or dealer first)
Don't use non-detergent it's a waste of time(I prefer 10-40 but 10-30 should be OK).
140W in gear box/diff/final drive.
