I can get a WD 45 for $500. The man says the engine needs rebuilt though. I haven't yet seen the tractor, but was wondering if this is a reasonable price if the tractor is in reasonable shape. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Brandon

In addition to what has already been said, if possible run the engine, and drive the tractor to check out each gear, pto, steering, hydraulics, etc. That way you get a better idea of what you are actually buying

Brandon,
If it's in good shape, I'm sure a lot of fellows on this site would come up with $500 bucks pretty quickly! Whether the wife knows about it or not!! It's just finding a place to hide it!! LOL! Sounds pretty resonable to me, especially if it runs... Steve B.

If it is in any kind of shape at all that, to me, would be a grab it now price. Check the boot on the shift lever, if it is rotted check the transmission for water at the lowest point, the PTO on the bottom. If you get water have a look in the transmission and rear end.

Make sure the rear rims and tires are good...they can add up to $$$$. Take Tom's advice on the tranny. I've seen beat up WD45's that I never bid over $200 on.....there just wasn't anything there to even salvage. If you're looking for something to restore, parts can add up real fast!
