I have a 1952 WD with a loader with a trip for dumping. Has anyone did away with the trip and replaced it with a hydraulic cylinder? If so i would like to know how this was done.

I switched a Paulson many years ago.First of all you'll need a two-way valve for the extra hydraulic circuit to operate the bucket. Mount a cylinder on each side of the bucket with homemade brackets. Make sure you allow for some adjustment, or weld the brackets to hold the bucket edge slightly below horizontal so it can dig into the ground a bit when you lower the boom. Plumb the two-way cylinders together when you connect them to the extra valve.
