Snow Plow on a Model B ???

Was there ever a factory produced snow plow set-up for a model B ? If so, how did it attach ? Especially, how did it attach with a crank only start tractor (like on my '39) ?

I have a '39 crank start 'B' with a belly mount snow blade and a manual lift. It mounts to the engine block using the factory mounting holes and is braced back to the square tube mount at the front of the fenders. The blade pivots to either side or straight ahead like a grader. I built it myself and have used it for a few years now to push snow, dirt gravel etc. I could send you photos if that would help.

I have plowed with an old b. Frame mounted to draw bar and block, pump ran off pto pulley. Cylinder was mounted to frame with a pulley and cable to lift plow. Just enough room between plow and tracor to start it.

Hi Ron,

I am not positive it was produced by the AC factory but my '42 B has had a V snowplow since it was new. The tractor used to be crank start only. The plow attached to a frame arrangement that was under the belly of the tractor, bolted to the drawbar in the rear and to the sides of the engine midstream. The lift mechanism was a hydraulic cylinder attached to a framework mounted directly in front of the radiator. Motive force was via a hand-operated hydraulic pump mounted on the right side by the foot brakes. The standard crank had to be lengthened about 6 inches to clear the lift mechanism up front.

Dad used this plow with the B for many years. I still use it but no longer mount it on the B since I have widened it from about 6 feet to about 10 feet. It's now too big for the little B. I use it in place of the front bucket on my Oliver 77 instead.
