When I was kid in Southern Minnesota, we plowed with 2-16 all the time. When it came to alfalfa sod, we needed to go in low gear and needed plenty of weight. My dad added weight by hanging rear tractor chains on a clamp he added by the rear wheel. And both tires had fluid.

Hello Noly. I had a wc on rubber, no fluid in tires had one hundred pound weights on each rear wheel. It would do good with the two 14's in ground that had been worked each year, plowing about nine inches deep. But it was a different story in sod, pulled it real hard. The tractor was fifty plus years old, and had the engine redone twenty years a go,i was told so it was doing it's fair share.
