I just got a WD and the man said that he had taken the 6v generator to a local rebuilder and had it set up for 12V. It has the 12 volt regulator on it. It was off the tractor when I purchased it and need to know how to wire it up. I alredy put a 12v coil on it. I don't have a volt meter, however I tried a tester used to check wiring on trailer connections.I clipped the aligator clip to the frame and touched each of the post coming out of the generator and couldn't light up the tester. Was this a wrong test for voltage out put. Thanks Gary

ground the "F" terminal to the frame. start tractor and measure the voltage across the "A" and "F" terminals. WIth 12 volt generator it might put out 20 volts or so. When connected to a voltage regulator, it gets cut to 13.8
