I just replaced my 1936 WC manifold with a after market one. The cost was $125 and its a heavy duty casting. I was surprised to find out it will fit a WD45 and one other larger tractor engine. After looking it over and comparing it to the old original, the new one is heavier casting, with bigger intake area for gas and air to mix. I would say it was a good improvement over the old original, which I kept just for my own personal reasons.

Who makes an after market side outlet manifold and where can they be found? I could use a new one myself. I don't think anyone would want to actually use a side outlet manifold on a WD 45 but it would definitly fit on the motor. Not sure the muffler would make it past the tin on a wd/45 if put straight in. I don't want to sound like I'm questioning you but are you sure it's a side outlet you have?

WOW! I might have to give that one on e-bay a bid. Thats about a quarter the price of a restored WC in my parts.

I just saw one on E-bay. Punch in Allis Chalmers and you should be able to find it.
