I have a 34 WC that I replaced the manifold on, after replacing everything it will not start. I cleaned the replacement manifold quite good. It ran and started ok before the change. Will I have to rebuild the carb. It does not seem to be getting fuel past the carb. Help

Thanks for any info

New manifold, or another manifold? Believe Tom is right on this one. Take it back off, but before you apply gook in an attemp to fix it check it with a sraight edge, and check the head too but not too many problems with the head, usualy the manifold is warped. Doesn't cost much to have the manifold milled or sanded flat. Once you get things flat forget the gook and bolt it back on with good gaskets. The manifold grows quicker and more than the head does when the temps are coming up. That's why Allis used the metal rings with gasket between the ring and manifold only, so the rings could slide on the head and remain sealed.

Butch has the right idea. From my experience tho, the intake ports on the manifold rarely rust away; the exhaust ports do and then when you file or plane the manifold you have to take some "meat" off the intake ports to get the exhaust ports to meet the head for a good fit. Once everything is straight, you should need only the stock gaskets to get a good seal.
