I am thinking about buying a D-19 Turbo Diesel, but it has a crack in the block next to the petcock and I'm wondering if that is normal for this tractor. Is there anyone out there who can tell me if this is a good tractor to use for general purposes or is it a boat anchor? Thanks.

The D-19 is a good tractor and one you would be satisfied with. I have one with a Westondorf TA-26 loader on it. It will pull a 9 ft Haybine or a 10 ft rotary cutter without straining. I would be concerned with the cracked block, in your case. Not knowing what the overall condition of the tractor is in, it is hard to give any more suggestions.

Cannot comment as to crack. But the tractor is a good one. it tends to be harder to handle in small place because of its size. but will do any work I have needed on my farm. pulls 4 bottom plow easily with extra power for the boggy spots. I use a nine foot haybine and a large baler. with the loader have sucked 18 inch corner posts with little effort. around here its often cheaper to buy than a D-17 or even a 15. I think it;s 65 - 70 Hp.
