Hi all, I have the chance to get an Allis Chalmers power unit. I just called the guy and he said that it's model # is E563. He said it is complete, It has been sitting for 20 years and is stuck, Before it turned 1/8th of a turn. He put diesel fuel and marvel mystery oil in the cylinders. It has a clutch, it also has an 11" by 11" belt pulley on it. The guys used it to run a saw mill. It has a 1 1/2 gal starting tank and a 26 gal main tank. He said the boar is 5 1/4" and the stroke is 6 1/2." The RPM load is 1,050 full load. He said it weighs about 2,800lbs! Man that is heavy! He said best offer takes it. What do you all think is fair? Thanks, TractorMike

This motor is like the one found in most model e25-40 tractors equipped with threshermans special used for belt pulley work. It is rated at 74 hp at 1050 rpm.

Idon't know what it is worth. With that bore and stroke it is one of the older engines, not the B, C or WC, WD engines. Parts may be more difficult to locate. And like you say it is heavy. On the other hand it is somewhat more rare so the value could be brought back up by that. As it is stuck I wouldn't think it would be worth much, on the other hand I think it would be a desirable project, saving an older engine. I'll bet this doesn't help you much huh? smile

Tom, It helps some. If I get it I have ideas for it. I was thinking of taking the belt pulley off and putting on a generator or a water pump. Man that would make a mean generator or water pump! I think it would be a fun project. Most every one I've talked to sounds like they would steer clear of it. Thanks, TractorMike
