Hi all, I have been working on my C for the past few weeks trying to get it running good, Well I replaced the head gasket because I thought it was leaking. But the problem is, I am still getting a little bit of water in the oil. I pulled the valve cover off today and there was condensation in there. I think my sleeve seals are leaking??? And today when I started up my C it didn't have very good oil preshure, Friday when I started it up the oil pressure was in the middle of the gauage. But today the pressure barly got above the normal line??? What do you think would cause this? I took about a quart of oil water mix out of the oil pan but I don't think that would cause low pressure. The oil seem's thinner too. So, what size are the sleeve seals? Thanks,TractorMike

If you are getting a lot of leakage you should be able to see where it is comming from if you remove the oil pan and let it sit for a while, then look up at the sleeves. A drop of water appears, wipe it off and see if another showes up.

Tom, I took my oil pan off today and looked up in there and I didn't see any water any where. When I took the valve cover there was conasation in there? could this be from the valve cover gasket not being sealed? Also the oil smelled like gas, could this be from when some of my cylinders weren't firing and the gas leak down causing the oil level to go up? Should I try to put it back together and see what happens??? Thanks, TractorMike

Sounds like a plan. Keep an eye on the engine oil. If it has water leaking into it it will start to look like coffee, light brownish. And the water level will go down. As for condensation, a milky looking coating on the valve gear seems to me like it could be condensation, have seen it before like that. Keep the engine running at least 180 degrees, if the weather is cold 200 degrees is better, you want to cause that water to evaporate. The heat won't hurt the engine, AC recomended those temps and more when burning "tractor fuel" to get the fuel to vaporize. If you think you may have a headgasket leak, take the plugs out after the tractor has set a while, days, and see if when you turn it over any water comes out.

the pressure gauge is low because the water got in the oil filter and lines. when you fix the leak, change the filter and you should be o.k. water dont help oil.
