A-C shifter parts----HELP

My son in law is pulling his hair out. He and I are trying to use a Model 7020 A-C two wd tractor to do everything on a cattle ranch but brew coffee. After the boss has invested a small fortune in repairing the old 7020 it turns out that the mechanic who's doing the work has determined that the cable assembly which is used on the shifter to go to low range is apparently stretched too far to operate the shifting mechanism. After a month of searching the word is that the cable is obsolete, out of production, and unavailable to say the least. Not really the answer we were hoping for. I am hoping that someone on this A-C Board can give me some suggestions as to how to get the old 7020 running as the snow is soon to fly and the tractor is how we feed the herd.
TYIA for any assistance you might lend. Norm-wy

A part like that for a tractor as new as a 7020 should be available from your nearest AGCO dealer. If you don't know who that is, go to www.agcocorp.com and use their find dealer function. You can go to AGCO and get a knob for a shifting lever on a tractor that's 60 years old. I know they'd have a part like that for a 7020.

Thank you folks. I've always said that if you need tractor info just ask the nice people on YT Forums. You can't lose.
