Does anyone have any pictures of a school bus that has been converted so
they can haul tractors. I am thinking of doing this and would like some
ideas.
Thank You
Smitty

You may want to post this question over on the Tractor Pulling forum. I used to see a lot of these at pulls as a kid, someone over on that forum may be able to help. I do not think it would be too difficult, Seem to remember busses are pretty much made of sheets of tin rivetted together. A man could probably drill some rivets out, take the entire back off, and move it as far forward as he wanted. I saw one on RFD-TV that the builder left enough room in the cab to build a sleeper compartment to stay in at shows. Good luck! Fireman

20 years ago i saw one with the entire back section removed and made into a flat bed..a couple years ago i saw two of them on the interstate going to Chicago that had only the back end and a few feed of the top and sides removed. they were full of christmas trees. Thought this looked like a good idea as the cargo was inside under the roof out of the weather.
If you do it i would consider removing the back end and a few feet and making a fold down ramp. leave the roof and walls for protection, if it is tall enough to drive under. Put a wall several feet behind the driver to make it a "cab" that can be heated or cooled and locked. Dont have to be weather proof since it is inside. Cab ara could have a couple extra bench seats and storage ara for "parts" or things you pickup at the shows. I've thought about this also, but never got started--time.
