Is there an easy way to replace the fan belt on a WD45, I have installed a power steering unit or am in the process and can figure out how to get the old belt off short of taking off the water pump, I know they would not make u do that just to replace the belt or would they. Any help would be appreciated. I feel like a dope asking this .

Just loosen or remove the generator, and remove the lower radiator hose to remove the fan belt. Should be all that is necessary.

Not necessarily the water pump, but at least the lower radiator hose must be removed. In some cases the front crankshaft pulley must be removed or the radiator must be loosened and moved enough to get the old belt out and the new belt installed. I have seen the "link belt" V-belt (made with individual sections that can be put together or taken appart) used on a few of the AC WC, WD, and WD45 Tractors so that the belt could be changed without doing this. I don't know if it would be worth the extra cost and effort. If a "extra service" or "severe service" V-belt is used it will likely last as long as the lower radiator hose so that both can be replaced at the same time. Good luck, Gordon in IN
