I have a wd45 that pops out of third gear.I have a WD tractor for parts. Would the gear in that work on my wd45?.thanks for any help.

If your WD has the later model trans which is normally identified by a curved shift lever the gears should be the same. Does your 45 shift solidly into gear? If it doesn't feel like it "clicks" into gear, there is the possibility that the detent spring is broken or weak. Get the I&T manual and look at the shifter. This fix would be much easier than tearing the trans apart. Hope this helps. Brian
