How tough is it to mount a belly mower on a B?

I appreciate all the responses on the going price for a B. How much of a headache is putting a Belly Mower on a B? Does Woods make a mower that fits well? Where should I begin the process of buying the right mower and mounting it?
Thanks

aaron. I have what I believe to be a 1943 C I got it with a 60" Woods L59 belly mower on it. I'm not sure how close the B & C models are but I can tell you how it hooks up If you want. email me

I had a belly mower on mine, was on it when I bought it. It was made by Sun Master out of Olathe Kansas. I took it off a couple of years later, and it laid on a pallet for a few more years until I sold it. I know it came off easier that it went on for the fellow that bought it, I couldn't remember where all the parts went. I'm sure woods makes one that will fit a B.

try to get a 60 inch if you are cutting stuff several inches high. i installed a WOODS 72 inch on a "C" and it worked great in the yard, but a little too much load for field work. most of the mowers use a bracket that bolts between the rear final drive cases, like the draw bar. there are a couple hangers that drop down from the rear of the motor clutch housing to support the front, normally have a couple wheels on the front end to glide over rough ground. mine used the standard 3/4 inch diameter cylinder normally in the rear to lift the deck. have seen a couple "B" with a long lever arm and manual lift. Some drive off the rear PTO and some drive off the side pto pulley. depends on the gear ratio needed.

I have a couple of images of belly mount mowers on a B on my website (links below) - that may give you an idea. Not too much to hooking it up - just time and effort.

I have a Woods L59 60 inch mower on my 1949 B and that's a real nice combo. I use it to mow the yard, but Saturday afternoon I mowed a ditch with 10-12 inch tall grass (or better) down to around 5 or 6 inches. Pulled it hard, but it handled it - just had to make two passes because I had let the grass get so tall. The temperature gauge never moved ..... and this was a ditch bank 20 feet wide by about 1/4 mile long. I do like that B!

Sandy Lake Implement offers Woods mowers (sandylakeimp@hotmail.com or 724-376-2489) as well as Paul Bazetta (http://www.tractorbuddies.com). I think a L59 mower will cost you around $1300 to $1600 plus freight.
