Hi All,

I just assembled my C motor after a complete rebuild. She runs good but there is a bit of oil seeping out from between the head and block. I had the head rebuilt including having the mating surface ground. I put a new head gasket in and torqued it to spec (60 Ft.Lb.) Restarted it and have the same thing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Jeff

I found that after getting it up to temperature after overhauling I could tighten the headbolts nearly 1/4 turn when retorquing. Did you re torque yours after warming it up?

Jeff,

Had the same thing happen to me after I had the engine in my B running up to temp a few times.A little bit of oil ran down the left side of the engine block from the corner of the head gasket area behind the intake breather. It seemed to stop now. I was going to retorque the head bolts just to play it safe, but a few AC folks said that it wouldn't be neccessary. I think it might have been from the oil I put on the head bolt threads when I was installing the head and torquing the bolts down. That's the only thing I could think of, and it only seemed to come out that one corner.....(?) Steve B.
