I have checked the shift lever on the drive, for the pump..... I have it shifted back(toward rear of tractor) as the manual says.....I wear hearing aids, but I think I can hear the gears turning.....it does not have a belt pully.....It seems to me that the high puessure relief valve is stuck open..... It will not, even cause the hoses or the cylinders to move... I am asking you guys what you think and any "watch outs" if I have to go inside.....I think that is what I will have to do.....I will be working from a wheelchair, so it will go slow.....I need this pump too work 100%...like new....what do you think and if you have been inside ,what to look for.....where can I get, new parts and gaskets..... thanks for your help.....Don

There is a PTO, belt pulley at the photo ads for $100 if you still need one.

Don; Before taking the plunge, so to speak, check the bypass ball valve and spring. these can be checked without removing the pump. If something is caught in the valve, holding it open, the pump will not build any pressure, ditto, if the spring is broken or missing, If all is well there, then you will have to pull the pump. If memory serves, the pump is spline driven off the transmission main shaft, and is a externally mounted, self contained unit. Pick up an I-T service manual for the G, Tractor supply Co. stocks many and can get any one you need. Unfortuately, if the pump is worn too badly, they can be tough to find and PRICEY when you do. G's while unique in configuration, are expensive little tractors to fix when they break. Being one of the rarer A-C models, in terms of prodution numbers, dosent help. If worse comes to worse, You can set up a belt driven hyd. pump. It can be a lot of work, but, It did get the hyd. system working again on one of my little G's. Good Luck, John W.
P.S. Once the pump unit is off, check for striped splines on the drive shaft. This can be a nightmare if the splines are striped, this would mean a transmission teardown and rebuild.

The I&T manual should help out a lot. Maybe you could find an original A-C service manual for the G. I see reproductions of them on ebay from time to time for about $10. I think it tells very little about the hydraulics (if anything at all) in my A-C operator's manual for the G. I have never been inside my pump. Perhaps you could get parts at AGCO or a good hydraulic shop. I got some hose fittings, etc. for my G at a Parker hydraulics store. Good luck.

Don, there isn't much available for these pumps any longer. I feel that you have to bite the bullet and remove the pump for a look-see. The parts manual is a must as well as the I-T AC manual. There may be a piece of debris under the bypass ball or the bypass spring may be missing.(You can check this without removing the pump). Get the I-T AC manual at minimum, the pump and repair routine is in there. Good Luck
