Hi friends. With all of your help my lil' B is running great. I am just putting some fresh paint and decals on her. I plan on plowing snow with her this winter and I live in central NY. It gets cold here. What oil should I use in the crankcase. What other suggestions do you have for winter work. I will be using a front plow with hydraulics. Thanks again, Joe

A lot more engine wear is caused by too heavy of oil in the winter as opposed to too thin. I would recommend either straight 10W detergent oil (may be difficult to find but tractor dealers and other farm suppliers would have it...My dad gets AGCO brand 10W oil for his D17's right at AGCO dealer) or equally you could use 10W30 oil which you can find at any place in North America that sells engine oil. Any brand is fine. You have to remember that the rod bearings in the B engine are oiled only by spray from holes in the camshaft. If the oil isn't fluid enough to spray, then no oil to the rod bearings. You could even use a 5W-30 oil if it's only going to be running for short periods.
