as your manual says, Allis B's were pos ground as built with 6 v generator. HOWEVER, if it has been changed to 12 v GM alternator, the alternator rules, is now neg ground.

Thanks,--guess I was thinking that the starter would reverse rotation with the ground polarity changed to negative.

The starter will work + or - ......the only thing you want to keep in mind, is the starter was built for 6v....do not crank too long on 12v ,the starter will get hot.....let it cool and try again......

the starter will be fine, just spin a little faster. if you have a magneto you are o.k. if it has a distributor and coil (possible changed) then you need to verify the coil is designed for 12 volts, or has a dropping resistor. IF the alternator charges o.k. then you must have the 1 and 2 terminals connected o.k. if the battery runs down, make sure no 1 wire is switched off by a key or toggle switch.
