Does anyone know if any B & C parts are the same?
I have a B that the steering wheel turns freeely. Figure the problem must be in the gearbox. Also have a complete rear chassis/torque tube/tranny for a "C", which includes the steering gear. Wondering if these are interchangeable? My manual says that the B and C worm gears themselves are different.

Thanks,

Kevin

the arm on the C gear box points straight up and the B points straight down. I wont swear to it , but i thought when you turn to the left the C arm turns counter clockwise, and the B turn clockwise. might want to chekc that. transmission and torque tube are not a problem as long as you keep the drive shaft with the torque tube. the gear ratios on the final drive and the width of the box (between wheels) is greater on the C. you can change both final drives between tractors, but cant use the individual internal parts from one in the other. the rear bevel gear-hydraulic-pto box, behind the transmission should interchange o.k.

The out shaft splines are larger and stick out farther from the tourque tube on the C stearing boxes than on the B's. They fit the two tourque tube mounting brackets the same. The C torque tube is drilled and taped for a support to hold the longer stearing shaft.
