Will the break bands come out from the top, or will I have to pull off the housing to get the band out? Also the rear main seal that came with the gasket kit that I have is of cork and the old one in the seal housing is felt. I don't see a cork seal mating to a moving part lasting to long. But will it? Has anyone else tried it? Or should I try to go back with a felt seal, if I can get one.

Thanks,

Craig

on the brakes, take off the screw and spring adjuster, then poke out both pins thru the housing, might be easier said than done. might have to soak with WD40, heat , etc. once you get them out you are home free. clean out the mud and mouse nest first, tnen make a hook of 1/4 inch rod and grab one end of the brake and pull. if it dont come out, you aint pulling hard enough. try pushing on the back end of the brake with a screw driver to coax it around the drum.
---i would use a felt seal for the rear seal if you can find one. try auto zone or NAPA.
