I am fairly new to tractors. I have a WD45 that I want to pull a little in the antique class locally. My question is how do you go about checking and setting the RPM's. I was told that they are very picky on how your RPM's are set.Any other advice on a good beginner setup would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dennis.

You can't go wrong if you open up the throttle, and then adjust the governor until the PTO is turning at 540 RPM. Around here, they allow 10% above manufacturer's rated RPM - so in that case, you could have the PTO turning at 594 RPM.

The rpm's on the PTO are in the operator' manual.
At high idle(1677 to 1722 rpm's)the PTO rpm's are 656 to 674. The 540 pto speed is at 1400 rpm's. Get it close, go to the pull and get them to check it.
