I think my B needs a new wheel bearing. Before I tear this apart, can anyone tell me if the bearings are available at NAPA (for example) or are they a hard to find item?

Many thanks,
Matt

Matt,
I carry wheel bearings and seals in stock for the AC Models. I'm not at the shop right now or I would shoot ya the numbers. Like Phil said, you may be able to see the numbers on the bearing cone and the race once they're cleaned up, and see if you can get them locally if you feel you want to replace them. Tom makes a good point, it's not a highway vehicle where high speeds are attained, but it's your choice if you want to replace them. If you have a problem identifing the part numbers, e-mail me. I'll shoot ya some Timken/Bower BCA numbers. Steve B.

Matt,
If NAPA doesen't have them, they should be able to get them by looking up the manufacturer's number that should be etched onto the outer race's outside edge. If they can't/won't, look up a bearing supplier in the Yellow Pages. They will probably have the bearing in stock.

Phil

You may find there is just a little play in the adjustment and they aren't so bad. Even if they are a little rough, new grease and seals could make them last a long time, not a hight speed wheel here.
