How fill hydraulics on D17?

I am new to a D17 Ser IV and am not able to figure out how to remove the dipstick to the left of the gear shift to check the hydraulic fluid. The one on the right with the breather cap is simple. On the left a shouldered nut? with a sort of cap on it. I can't pull the cap off nor loosen the nut.

Can anyone help?

Steve, I think that shouldered dipstick just screws right out like an ordinary bolt would. Mine is hand-tight. Might put a wrench on it and gently turn it. I believe it will come on around for you.
