This probably isn't the right place to ask for info, as my machine is relatively new (circa 1970). I own and operate an AC 860 cotton stripper and would like to know which model Gleaner it is adapted from; any historical info on these machines would be greatly appreciated. It has the 301 six cylinder diesel (according to the manual). It lacks power and I would appreciate any info on how to boost it (safely). I harvested 150 acres of UNR cotton with it last year, and while it was okay, I think there is room for improvement.

If the 301 is not turbo charged now, that would help a lot, probably 10 - 15 HP, If it is already turboed try adding an intercooler from a 7020. In either case you will have to keep the cooling system in top shape to prevent overheating. Good luck. TED
