Just looked at a 'utility' version of the D-17 diesel, and aside from lacking the adjustable rear wheel spacing, I was wondering if there are any other important differences between this and an agricultural version of the D-17 diesel? Also, would it be possible to swap the adjustable wheel hubs from another D-17 to this 'utility' tractor? It looks like the adjustment is actually in the wheels rather than the axles, is this true? Thanks in advance for any advice or info!

As long as it has the same eight-bolt pattern and center hole diameter, it should swap ok. I'd imagine the hubs are the same casting. Is it perhaps the D17 Industrial, with the shuttle clutch instead of the power director (hi-lo) clutch? Shuttle clucth gives it forward and reverse in each gear, not hi-lo. I've often seem those without the power adjust rear wheels, also has a solid wide front, instead of the roll-shift front axle. Actually, row-crop refers to the narrow front D17, since it allows for later cultivation of row crops than the wide front version. Limiting factor is then the clearance under only the rear axle, not the front.
