My father-in-law has a D-19 diesel he use to farm with. He has long since quit farming (except for some cows around). He just used the D-19 to plow the garden. About three years ago he was plowing and it went to spit and sputtering so he pulled it out of the garden and parked it and it has been there ever since. I offered to buy it but he wouldn't sell. He just says " I'll fix it someday" So I bought a 1900 Oliver and then traded for an 1850 Oliver. My tractors starter went out and some other problems (too long to go into detail ). So I got my Oliver running today and so I thought I might as well go bite the bullet and work on the D-19 as well. I went over there, unhitched the plow and hooked on to it with my 4x4 truck to pull it out of the hole it is in and couldn't budge it. So , went and got another tractor and pulled it out. Checked the oil level it was fine with no water in it. Checked the coolant and added a half gallon. went to put a battery in it but my daddy-in-law pulls up so I told him to give me a pull with the other tractor. He pulls me 25 feet, dropped the clutch and vrooooom ;purred like a kitten. Not a thing wrong. That turbo was music to my ears. He just shook his head !! Those Allis' take a licking but keep on ticking!!
