The HP numbers in the other post sound about right. As for cubes, it was the good old 426. Aaron

The orginal D21 was naturally aspirated. It had about 101 pto hp. The Series II D21 had the turbo, w/ about 126 pto hp. I sure somebody will correct the hp rating if I'm wrong.

Most well-maintained D-21 Series II will pull MORE than the factory-rated PTO Horsepower. Personally, I've never seen a GOOD Series II test BELOW 132 PTO horsepower on my CALIBRATED Dyno. Increases to the D/fuel flow will greatly increase PTO hosepower on the D-21, but the REST OF the Driveline can't use that extra HP; unless the D-21 driveline has been "Modified". One of my (2) Series II D-21 pulls 185 PTO @3/4 throttle; I pull 10-18 inch plows (and a Culti-mulcher) @ 8-9 inches deep in HEAVY SOD ground. A STOCK D-21, in GOOD Condition, will pull 7-16s anywhere, anytime. They were DESIGNED from the AC factory to do this and they will. As mentioned elsewhere in this forum, Allis-Chalmers put way too much HP capability in the 3500 series of D-21 engines; they realized their mistake after having to "eat" all those clutch replacements under factury warranty.

Restoration Story: 1951 Farmall H - by The Red (John Fritz). I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
