Why is my A/C WD stuff worth more in parts than whole?

It seems like the vintage A/C stuff has bottomed out in value and not gonna go up. Which is great for the real collector/enthusiast but I need to move my collection that would assemble into 2 whole tractors but it seems that the stuff is worth more in pieces than running?

I tried selling them as a package and nobody is interested. Doe stuff move well on eBay?

Lots of us collect old tractors of various brands, Some like me use their equipment to work their acreages. This said I am not willing to pay megathousands for a show quality tractor that I'm gonna use to bush hog, or beat around on the farm. That said if you take an old tractor and strip it down you can sell the total of all the parts for much more than the whole tractor can be bought. Recently I gave $800 for a working WD 45. But I'm sure if I needed just a new engine for the same machine it would cost more than my initial investment. Yes stuff sells on E-Bay, often for way too much money.
