D17 Arllis Chamlers Tractor Brakes

My step father is trying to locate directions on how to replace the brake pads on a 1960 D17 Arllis tractor. Does anyone have any idea of how to replace them? We would appreciate the assistance.

The I&T manual shows how to replace the brakes, plus much more. Good resource for less than $20.

I don't know how much of a help this will be without pictures, but here goes! 1)To remove brake shoes , first remove the brake compartment covers from the top of the transmission housing (under the seat). 2)Disconnect and remove front and rear brake shoe return springs.
3)Remove brake shoe anchor pin lock and anchor pin from lower side of transmission housing.***In the event that the brake anchor pin cannot be pried from housing, drill and tap the pin so that a slide hammer may be used to remove the pin.
4)Remove adjusting nut from adjusting screw and withdraw the front shoe.
5)Then, remove rear shoe out of the top opening of the transmission housing.
6)The brake shoes and linings are interchangable. Reinstall the front shoe as an assembly made up of brake shoe, toggle levers , toggle pin and adjusting clevis and pin.
7)The large brake shoe return spring is for the rear shoe and the smaller spring is used for the front shoe. Hope this helps!
