1938 AC Model B

Magnoto type distributor: On the side of the distributor is a stud to ground out the motor. I replaced the rusted screw with a new one. Someone was in the distributor before so I need to know where the wire goes to on inside of distributor to ground it out.

Thanks for any input.

It goes to the points with the condenser and primary coil wires.

If attaching the wire to the points killed the mag then you need disconnect the external kill wire at he mag to eliminate the possible bad switch or wire. If you still have no spark, look at the stud were it goes through the case and find out where it is grounding. I have seen several different stud types but if yours is the more common brass machine screw, starting at the head you should attach the internal grounding wire then a fiber insulating washer, then a fiber sleeve that insulates the case hole. Push it through the case then add another fiber washer, then a brass flat washer, the thunb grounding switch and tighten with a nut. Then attach the kill wire to the switch with another nut.

I got it working! Someone had used the fiber washer as just a washer. I found it, fixed it and it is now working. Thanks for all your help.

Next project is the transmission and then..... ...this tractor will be completed restored!!
