Just brought home a D14 that won't turn over. At first I thought the engine was stuck but now am begining to wonder. With a bar on the flywheel the engine will turn, but just ever so slightly. Is it possible for something in the torque tube to be stuck? When I pull back on the large lever on the right side the tractor won't roll - with it forward it will roll. Thank's for your thoughts.

That large lever is the power director and is like a hand clutch. Try pulling the starter out of the engine and see if it'll turn over easier. Put the tractor in neutral while your turning it over. Sometimes the starter bendix can jam against the ring gear and make it seem like the engine is locked up.
