Hi, prehaps one of you could tell me where I could find a set (upper & lower) canvas for a A-C model 60 all crop combine. Sure the dealer can order the canvas, but they want $650. for both, which is WAY out of my price range, since I am only 18 (still in High School) and would use the combine to do 8 acres of wheat a year. Any ideas on where I could find a cheap set of canvases would be appreciated.

My advice would be to go to a local RV retail store most canvas awnings are made in-house. Also if you live near a large body of water there are bound to be sail boat retailer who either make or know of canvas shops.

I have just called Spencers Canvas Company for my AC 66 combine, in South Dakota, 800-333-5791 and they quoted me a price with rubber strips below, without shipping, one week to make, and must be paid in advance.

upper 59 1/2 X 49 - $220.00
lower 59 1/2 X 151 - $350.00

This was quite high to me but they have to eat also. I think I might have to save a little longer
if I want to place an order.

Check with tent and awning companies, shoe shops, etc, that handle canvas products. You can make the slats (oak) and buy the rivets.

The only cheap way I know is to buy another combine with decent canvas on it. Nice All-Crops go $125-200 around here at auction. Neglected ones go for pocket change.

Butch's method worked for me, now I have 3 sets of good used canvas', but I also have 4, 60 all crops. My favorite and the one I use to combine a few acres of oats every year is a 1937 model with a bagging platform and a "scour-clean" attachment. They are an amazing machine considering when they were designed.
