Tulsa Tractor Guy,
The hand clutch can be very jerky if the oil level is too low and the clutch is dry or if the facing is gone from the clutch discs and it has steel on steel contact. On the left side just to the rear of the hydraulic oil fill, is the oil level and fill plug for the hand clutch. Check it out for sure. Inside the clutch there is a large pressure washer that provides the pressure that holds the clutch plates and discs together. The "snap" of the clutch is the over center linkage that transfers this pressure from the spring washer to the plates and discs. Duey

The WD I used would be gradual, you could ease into the work because the clutch runs in oil.
